Okay, maybe all you practical people will think what I'm about to post is lame but seriously, what follows is something that I've always secretly wanted...and now you will all know about it!
I'm a runner. I run road races. Therefore, I have many many road racing t-shirts that have accumulated over the years. I LOVE my t-shirts. Some are too small (especially with the expanding baby belly!) and some are very worn. But they are all pretty much prized possessions because they all tell a story.
Since I want to wear all of the ones that I really love but I also want to keep their memories, I thought that a t-shirt quilt might one day be the answer to my dilemma--turn my favorite race tees into a quilt that I can snuggle up with.
Sadly, I'm 1) frugal and 2) unorganized which means that a t-shirt quilt might not ever be in the works.
However, these days, a lot of races are now giving away tech-tees which means that cotton tees are going by the wayside. Now that I'd rather wear these tech-tees (think coolfit, drymax, etc.) it is the perfect time to retire my old fave cotton race t-shirts....
...and what better way than by using Campus Quilt's service...especially if I WON their giveaway (offered on A Psych Mommy's blog)?
Can't you just see me now, cozied up under a t-shirt quilt? :-o

Any runner deserves to have their shirts immortalized!!! I live with a few runners myself I know about the blood, sweat and tears you shed! I hope you win....Thanks for following my blog. I peeked at your other blog and it looks like you're quite the crafty girl yourself! Good luck on the giveaway.
That is a very cool idea - and in a shameless plug - if you do not win I can do it for you. :) Although I bet that crafty twin of yours could do it too. :) I love the idea of a tshirt quilt - if I had saved all of my tshirts from my highschool plays I would totally make a quilt out of them.
What a great giveaway from Campusquilts! I've made two t-shirt quilts: one for my Kappa chapter and one for my husband. And at some point I want to make another one using all my Kappa shirts from college. They are perfect for snuggling under on chilly nights. Good luck!
Great idea :) Any Mommy to be or Mommy already deserves to have something cozy to snuggle with. Good luck on the giveaway! Hope you are much better today. And also thanks for the sweet comments on my blog. It is official, I am a single parent as of 3am 10 days to go :)
i had campus quilts turn all of my zeta shirts from college into a huge quilt - i LOVE it! it brings back lots of good memories and it's really warm and snuggly. good luck!!
that is AWESOME...i love it!!!!!!!!
I made a ZTA t-shirt quilt from college, too. 16 shirts and if you want neutral color in between with the corner pockets or breast graphics, you need 17. $50 in materials and it is really easy, straight only sewing. If you want tips, let me know, I have the notes! You will love it. The best comfy broken in blanket EVER.
