We always like to celebrate Daddy's arrival home with a special treat--be it a "welcome back" sign or a dessert. It doesn't hurt that I can never pass up an excuse to bake (especially with chocolate!) so today we made cookies.
I googled a recipe, picked the second one, made some adjustments based on what we had and voila!
Chocolate chip cookies.
To pretend that I didn't eat the dough and then 3 cookies out of the oven, 4 cookies while waiting for J to arrive home (hey! it was dinner!) and 3 more cookies once he was back would be a blatant lie. At least there's still a bakers dozen left for him to eat.

Yum. If I had chocolate chips, those pictures would have been inspiration enough to make cookies. But, sadly, I ate through the last bag of chocolate chips we had in about 2 days. Boo!
Half the fun of making cookies is eating the dough and the cookies you made look so yummy!
