{4 months} No Way!

Subtitled:
Above Average in Every Way

Stats
14 lbs 2 oz (64%)
24 inches (71%)
so--that's above average !
(and of course, as her mama, i'm entitled to feeling that she is above average in every way)

To quote one of the most cliché and overused phrases of all times (something along the lines of: "my baby is growing up in the blink of an eye") would be an understatement.

Before I had my second girlie, I'd roll my eyes at such statements. With just Cutie Face, life seemed to operate at a manageable rate.

Introduce Cutie Cakes and time changes...rapidly.

How is it possible she is 4-months old? Already? I remember Cutie Face reaching that milestone and proudly declaring she was 1/3 of a year old. Only 2 times her age and we'd be celebrating her 1st birthday. I felt like i had all the time in the world.

Now, i have a 4-month old and my Cutie Face will be TWO 2 months from tomorrow. It's unreal.

Back to Cutie Cakes.

She is coming into her own lately which is so fun...because she's fun!

She loves to communicate with us. She'll try to sing when we sing (favorite songs being the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Head and Shoulders"), coos back when we talk to her, and definitely complains when she is not satisfied with a situation (which is usually when she's done with the bumbo or wants someone to pay attention to her).

She tries to reach for things and when she just so happens to latch onto something, it will immediately land in her mouth. She loves to gnaw on anything she can get--mainly it's her thumb or fist but she loves her squeaky Sophie (among other toys).

She's not quite into the rolling stage but the last three nights she's woken up because she's rolled from back to belly and can't get back to her sleeping position (on her belly). Her older cousin went through this stage and I definitely didn't envy my twin. Turns out God wants me to feel true empathy for her so He's putting me through the same stage with Cutie Cakes. It's fun.

She is VERY near the sitting stage, though, which i LOVE. Cutie Face sat around 5.5 months and didn't roll all the way over until after she started crawling (and then, really, what's the point once you're crawling?). So the sitting stage for #1 was fun because she never went anywhere--she just sat and played. I look forward to that time with Cutie Cakes.

I still have a hard time believing she's mine. For one reason, I think i expected to have to go through the same trials to get a "#2" as we did with our "#1". For the second, she looks nothing like Cutie Face...which i think is pretty great! Our doctor called her eyes "cornflower blue" and it's a very fitting adjective for them.

We love her so much, Cutie Face especially--she's the first to introduce you to her sister in a store ("Dat's Cutie Cakes), Cutie Cakes is the first thing she asks about after she wakes up, she is a wonderful mama--wiping up spittle and fetching toys, oh she just loves having Cutie Cakes as a sister!

and WE just love having her as our sweet baby daughter.

She's a cutie for sure and her eyes, they're brilliant blue!

I like the onesie she's wearing with the #4. I was thinking it would be neat to make some onesies that have numbers on them. I got the idea from the baby shower photos your showed awhile ago and your latest post reminded me about them.
